My eyes deceive, ah what a great phsycological horror game, this game made me learn that even though some people may protect you from monsters, they can be the devil themselves, (play the game and see what i mean.) also this game contains topics like..... graping without the g.
hey. just a recommendation. instead of saying "disturbing and sensitive subject matter" just say "includes themes of drugging and sa." otherwise, the warning does nothing and the game can still cause immense distress to anyone unprepared. please, and thank you.
a little but, personally, i can deal with most disturbing stuff, but sa stuff i cant due to my past, it ruins the ending a little but i think the comfort and safety of a player is more important than a games ending
not really. just a vague warning does just fine, the endings still hit as hard since people tend to have suspicions anyway. though, asking if it ruins the ending, kinda ruins the ending.
I played the game. I don't get what people are talking about it being discomforting and horrifying (yes I understood it's theme about SA) still I don't get it in both endings, i've read the google docs file and yet still I did not get it please share more wisdom
I mean, I suppose being kept all alone with no human contact in a tight basement as a young child by your father who tells you it's "for your own good" to the point where you don't even know what an apple or the damn sun is, might be pretty disturbing to say the least.
I cam here after the roblox game, and I absolutely love this, just personally i hate cliffhangers LOL I wish it showed like her idk like getting the help or maybe like her running into a neighbor that's like asks her if she's alright and then the credits come, to kind of give me the reassurance that she found like safety but this is just like a personals thing, overall i loved the game and please make more ! WIll be following
This game genuinely made me cry and I can't stop thinking about it. This was one hell of an experience, and I applaud you. This is what real psychological horror feels like.
You purposely ignored the warning which are the very first words on this page, decided to keep playing despite being told what kind of a game this is, and then got upset when you were given the content you were warned was in the game you decided to play, this is entirely your fault for being upset. If you chose to ignore content warnings in a game, then that is your fault.
People are allowed to make disturbing content, and having a psychological horror game be horrifying is the entire point.
Just because someone made a "disturbing" game doesn't mean the person behind it is a bad person.
In NO WAY does this game romanticize or glorify what is happening to this child. it is disgusting, and horrific, and nothing about this is saying "HURTING CHILDREN IS A GOOD AND OKAY THING TO DO". not once does it even insinuate that.
maybe specify that it involves harm to children, abuse, or something similar? vague enough to not give anything away, but a bit more than what's currently there to give people at least a bit of a better idea before diving into the game
at fist i found so happy and cute that I forgot it was a horror game ... it disturbed me, I can't explain how i feel about this game, you made an awsome (or disgusting) job with the storyline
Also, I would like to show a problem (not exactly a bug) that i had with the game
My monitor is in the 4:3 resolution, like this game, but when I played, instead of fullfiling the screen, it actualy turned it into 3:4 resolution, with black borders, i tought it was proposital till i played in a widescreen (i even turned the monitor sideways to see if it would work), and it also cut some of the text, so it would be nice if you guys could fix this, i will try to show 2 pics, if it doesn't work check this link
Only Because My videos is going viral and their is controversy surrounding it being removed I repost here I was very confused on the ending but the comments cleared that up for me
Out of curiosity, would the original release version of the game be available to download somewhere? Knowing the big change that was made, I agree that it was a good alteration. But as a preservationist (and out of curiosity) I would appreciate if it were made available.

This is a wonderful game, very slow and deliberate. Has that same aching sense of lethargy as Presentable Liberty. The dark aspect of the story was handled very well and respectfully. (I wish you the best, don't listen to anyone who accuses you of having done this in poor taste.)
EDIT: So happy to see this game back up! I hope in the future this gives it the recognition it deserves, especially since the Roblox port is going viral and people are praising it. Very proud of the creator for allowing people to experience this twisted tale.
I'm upset that I had to play a Roblox port and then watch playthroughs of the original game in order to see what it was. It would've been so much better to experience it raw and first hand.
There's no denying this game presents an extremely sensitive topic, and it's made so impactful by the fact that you literally play as a short little girl, only reaching just barely the height of the table.
I had already made guesses as to what the scenario could be, cause it was very clear it wasn't the case of a child being protected from a harsh wasteland. But actually experiencing it unfold in front of your eyes is an entirely different feeling. To some people, like me, not even anticipating the worst prepares me for it.
But that doesn't mean it has to be shunned for what it gives the player. Yes, it does leave you feeling gross, disgusted, even sick to your stomach if you're extremely sensitive. But that's the point. You're being presented with a story of an event that should never be recreated or witnessed in real life. You are being told of a lifestyle that can really happen in the world. To some people, it's a chance to look through the eyes of a person who's had similar experiences to the girl, and that can really open your eyes and change your view.
I do understand why this was taken down, as without proper warning this must've definitely triggered a good handful of people, that and apparently the creators were being accused of enjoying the topics being presented, which is such a wild accusation to make towards an artist, but I still think it should be told, experienced, and set as a decent example of a more extreme story horror game.
It looked good, there was clear effort into the level design and it communicated the idea maybe too well. That’s it for positives, honesty it reads like homework for a game class and I hope that’s what it was.
My friend put it best, it's not a game. Yeah you push buttons and you move or interact but that's it. Nothing happens, your choices don't matter until the end meaning that the first 30 minutes was for nothing and definitely didn’t help make it feel like a game.
The dreams, the walking, the dialogue it all feels like it was to add to the run time. The walking was slow, the dialogue slower and the dreams did nothing to add to the story. At least the dialogue told you what was happening and even then it was so spelled out for you that you don't need much thought to understand. There was no mystery, nothing to hook you into playing more and before the first day was over we both wanted to quit playing because we knew what was happening.
I hoped it would surprise us, maybe the father wasn’t lying, maybe we would get to see the outside and find a wasteland. That would have been cool. Nope. It was exactly what you think it is. It’s exactly what was so clearly shoved in your face before day one was over. The worst part, I saw the dev say that it was meant to be a conversation about this topic but there wasn’t even a phone number to a help line, no line of text at the end saying “if this is you, reach out and get help” nothing. It comes off as an attempt to make a shocking game about a real subject but it was so half baked that it failed to even be fun or scary.
Scary is a good word and it's not one you could say about this. The atmosphere was like a park in the middle of the day, well lit and no tension. Nothing built up to be scary and the one time you might have been scared was a loud sound in a dream after finding an apple. Maybe there was something to jumpscare you but I didn’t see it, mostly due to how the dreams are impossible to see anything and have this wavy effect that is horrible to look at much less move around in.
I hope this dev improves, I hope they can make a game and this isn’t it. This is harsh and I hope not mean but this was honest. This showed that the dev understood the fundamentals of a game and there are many things one can do to improve it.
My advice:
The players' choices make them matter and have them impact the game in some way.
The nightmares need something to be added or they need to be removed fully but as it stands it does nothing for the story.
Something at the end to show care for the subject
Tone it down, let there be mystery, let the player question if this is truly it or if there is more to it
Wow the theme is really very sensitive, but it's good that you can relax while playing and creating theories if what is said is really the truth or not, anyway I liked how the game was developing the story and the ending so I think it was well explained, the dream part was pretty tense did a good job!!
This game told a dark story, but it really had your immersed in what was going on the whole way through. I found myself scared to progress at certain points because of some of the context I had been left with. Insane stuff, need more games like this; great work.
This is a really good horror game for sure and it is well told as well. Just based on context of the game gave me enough clues to figure out the story and potential consequences. Really good job devs. Keep it up.
Very conflicting experience. On the other hand you have worked hard on the game, making it vastly different from anything I've seen before and the fascination for it is behind truly creepy atmosphere. Yet, the subject matter is somewhat sensitive and I fully understand the "free choice" of making the game, publishing it for others to be shared and played, but still it is a story, which should not really be showcased in a way like this, rather more conventional and educational way.
From the start, I could easily figure out the concept - trapped girl, the basement, too many movies and messed up reality to be part of nowadays. Although, still to the end I was hoping it would take more "ambiguous" approach, until the credits scene, which directly tells the audience what was going on.
The game is superb. The sound design, mechanics, atmosphere, the diary and the dreams - perfectly executed. I felt eerie even playing the inside game, where the single dot was trying to escape many dots. Weirdly, I know it is not part of the game, but it felt like the main character was also chased by "ideas" like in that game, trying to dodge the fear and impulses telling the truth to them. Very sad.
As I already mentioned, the quality of this project is fantastic. My personal attitude towards developers, who want to deal with serious themes like mental illness, wars, abuse, it still stays the same, but for this game I made an exception and there are many other great games too.
Best of luck with the future developments and hope to see another installment from you soon, maybe less dark, less serious and more towards the scary side, rather then creepy and edgy, although, as I said 3 times already I liked the game for what it was.
Thank you for taking your time to give me your honest critique. I fully agree with the subject being sensitive.
The game aims to discuss many themes, such as abuse, false imprisonment, dependence, isolation, perception, the subconscious, war, etc. Personally, as a developer, I wanted to create an experience rather than a game. An experience where it's not just the typical scary mansion with supernatural events. However, in retrospect, I am sure to say that tackling such a trope as a first attempt at psychological horror was not the best idea.
There are myriads of things that could've been portrayed in a more careful manner. Lastly, there are many things I wish to learn in the future about game design, and I hope this experience won't define me as a future creator.

Better than OMORI.
why can't good games be available on mac 💔

Not even mentioning the "bad" ending.
I played both endings and the only part that kinda make me have that "wtf face" is when you heard the belt falling down
Man I wanted to puke after the impregnation thing. That is a child, jesus
honestly really good first-person horror game that i have played in a while. my rating - 10/10.
I'm DED
I cam here after the roblox game, and I absolutely love this, just personally i hate cliffhangers LOL I wish it showed like her idk like getting the help or maybe like her running into a neighbor that's like asks her if she's alright and then the credits come, to kind of give me the reassurance that she found like safety but this is just like a personals thing, overall i loved the game and please make more ! absolutely wonderful game, but i couldnt find the difference in this version and the roblox one? is there any difference?
Some text is changed and some content is cut in the Roblox version to abide by the TOS.
This game genuinely made me cry and I can't stop thinking about it. This was one hell of an experience, and I applaud you. This is what real psychological horror feels like.
appreciate it
hey nouhidev is there any chance I could get soundtrack from this game? I found it really atmospheric.
you can add me on discord my name there is "nouhi"
it isnt lore thats just the main plot of the game dude. it was hinted at in both endings.
anyway... yea no its a psychological horror game and the subject matter was done tastefully.
... also, use spoiler tags.

The warning literally just says "sensitive and disturbing subject matter"
That's an extreme understatement for the actual subject matter of the game
any recommendations for a better phrasing? I'd appreciate it!
maybe specify that it involves harm to children, abuse, or something similar? vague enough to not give anything away, but a bit more than what's currently there to give people at least a bit of a better idea before diving into the game
"Extreme understatement" its dark but disturbing perfectly describes that.
Man.
who the fuck made this im criyng
whats the music used

But the subject matter was handled in a remarkable way.
The sound design and level design made you felt isolated.
nouhidev you made a sensitive topic into a game and you handled it perfect and remarkable way.

omg amazing work! this game really made me feel something. it was sad and terrifying experience and you absolutely nailed it. keep going :)
please, can you name background musics that you used 🥺 it was sad and peaceful and i can’t find it with shazam. i would really appreciate it!!!

definitely one of the best horror games ive ever played, amazing work on this
appreciate it!
The game wont start with updated one, anyone having the same issue?
still worked for me, are you running on Windows 64bit?
yes.
That was very deep, I really love psychological horrors just like these! Besides the story, the game design and sound design both were super good too!
