I haven't played (yet) but its crazy to realize people don't know this is based on a true story. It makes the concept that much more sickening, I plan on playing eventually but I figured someone would find it interesting to know this story actually happened irl before.
no matter if I download the zip or download the game on steam whenever I try to play it my character is stuck moving backwards and I can't find the issue
Edit: still somehow managed to beat freerunner
Edit 2: it was apparently my steering wheel that i forgot to disconect. SMH
the ending where you don’t take the pills. And you pretend to fall asleep. “Papa” comes down and questions if she’s asleep. She didn’t reply so the father Raped her. And he’s done it every night for however long. As she says. Why is my belly big and round. It was also confirmed that her “Antidote” was sedates. Which makes people’s brains stop functioning. Or in other words. Makes you fall asleep. So the “Papa” could do his business. This is also a story about being kidnapped and based on true stories on pedophiles raping kids.
My macbook didn't let me open this so i downloaded it on my brother's windows computer, and the ending made me tear up. I do recommend this game though.
Great game, that story was actually really gripping and I felt so bad for the kid. Would you be in any need of a voice actor? I'd love to work with you.
This has got to be one of the most saddest games I have ever played, throughout the game it is based on one's perception as to what is really going on, really deep stuff
i know the Disk Horse is old lol but i like this game(/'experience'?) and wanna talk abt it anyways. i think that a lot lot lot of this is heavily within a *childs* perspective. other people have mentioned that everything from the speed of the character to her height implies her youth, but it is also written directly from her mind. i was abused since as far back as i can remember, and when youre raised in abuse, all you know *is* abuse. it is normal to you. it takes a LOT to realize what is happening, what's wrong. i dont see a reason for the story to remove itself from the childs perspective, it is supposed to disturb specifically BC its from a childs perspective... i think it would detract from the story to make the abuse more "obvious" to the audience within the narrative - esp bc it isn't exactly subtle to begin with, imo.
i think art has the right to disgust, has the right to ugliness, and it doesnt need to justify itself. i dont agree w the comments saying this is cheap shock horror. you-the-audience, a presumable adult, likely realizes what is happening before the end. you should be horrified by the childs lack of agency, by *your* lack of agency. the child doesnt need to understand what is happening to her, bc the dramatic irony is PRECISELY part of the horror. it isnt just one singular line that's meant to disgust you, the entire story is.
what else... i personally like "walking simulators" so i dont mind the way this story is expressed. i think some of the nightmares are confusing to solve, though. there is a ton of subtle cues as well - the belt sound effect for one. everything comes together to make something cohesive as long as youre paying attention ^^
This was really an amazing story and game. The build up and tension was great the entire time. The story itself was very disturbing and the subject matter was handled very well. 10/10
that ending, that ending was disgusting o my god i hate it i damn hate it, the game is good, and is well done, even the dark meaning but... oh my god- that was- digustly disturbing?
i didn't get the true ending first so it just hit so much harder having it be the second playthrough ): remarkable story telling experience, and the dreams were really well done! i also appreciate the gameplay loop isn't too repetitive, as if we had to do those extra three days, i'd be bored by the ending, so good call there. kudos!
Although this game may not be for everyone, I think it was very well done, for the story it is putting across I think it was handled very well and created horror in a different way than expected but by so much more. All in all a good game that is very sad.
For a game that is about sexual abuse, I do believe the execution could've been done a little bit differently (especially story-wise), but overall, it does make you feel pitiful for the girl who literally has people she can't rely on
my main problem with the game was...how to put it: When the girl was deciding whether she should take the pills or not, I thought it would've been better if there was a scene of the father mistreating the girl, making her start to question if she should really trust him or not. I didn't really see the dad just not being home as a reason to her making that choice.
But alas that could just me, I still loved the overall execution of the game and I have no complaints about how the game dev was doing this stuff for "shock value", because the childhood abuse was represented pretty decently and I believe this was made with good intentions in mind
Thats kinda of the purpose of the game, it doesn't want you to know immeadiatly whats going on, the tittle of the game speaks for itself "my eyes deceive" it(the game) wants you to be fooled by the fact that her father is "protecting" her just because he didn't do anything seemingly bad for the marjority of the game, maybe thats just my thought on it but i wanted to share my opnion.
I loves this. It felt very real and tension-like-scary. I love how the whole thing can also be interpreted how you'd like. Great game, and I can't wait to see what else you make!

Pretty good
Very Disturbing Game with a sad ending. Fucked up how such things actually happen irl.
does anyone know how to open the app on iOS I'm struggling
Are there differences between the itch and Steam releases?
This was really an amazing story and game. The build up and tension was great the entire time. The story itself was very disturbing and the subject matter was handled very well. 10/10

it's actually based on a real-life case in 2008 the Fritzl case. https://www.bing.com/ck/a?!&&p=71d58ddbbbd51a55JmltdHM9MTcwODIxNDQwMCZpZ3VpZD0yZ...
oh, my apologies for being a bit ignorant of that

yeah, true
I totally agree with that not gonna lie
thank you for sharing your opinion :3
(It's just hard sometimes for me to interpret works haha...but i understand. Everyone has different opinions and mines was probably pretty wrong.)
Hi, I'd like to volunteer to translate your game from English into Brazilian Portuguese.
I loves this. It felt very real and tension-like-scary. I love how the whole thing can also be interpreted how you'd like. Great game, and I can't wait to see what else you make!
Here's my playthrough if anyone wants to see:
Interesting game, courious and shocking plot. A bit slow but enjoyable. I watered the plants all days haha. Nice job :)
