This was really an amazing story and game. The build up and tension was great the entire time. The story itself was very disturbing and the subject matter was handled very well. 10/10
that ending, that ending was disgusting o my god i hate it i damn hate it, the game is good, and is well done, even the dark meaning but... oh my god- that was- digustly disturbing?
i didn't get the true ending first so it just hit so much harder having it be the second playthrough ): remarkable story telling experience, and the dreams were really well done! i also appreciate the gameplay loop isn't too repetitive, as if we had to do those extra three days, i'd be bored by the ending, so good call there. kudos!
Although this game may not be for everyone, I think it was very well done, for the story it is putting across I think it was handled very well and created horror in a different way than expected but by so much more. All in all a good game that is very sad.
For a game that is about sexual abuse, I do believe the execution could've been done a little bit differently (especially story-wise), but overall, it does make you feel pitiful for the girl who literally has people she can't rely on
my main problem with the game was...how to put it: When the girl was deciding whether she should take the pills or not, I thought it would've been better if there was a scene of the father mistreating the girl, making her start to question if she should really trust him or not. I didn't really see the dad just not being home as a reason to her making that choice.
But alas that could just me, I still loved the overall execution of the game and I have no complaints about how the game dev was doing this stuff for "shock value", because the childhood abuse was represented pretty decently and I believe this was made with good intentions in mind
Thats kinda of the purpose of the game, it doesn't want you to know immeadiatly whats going on, the tittle of the game speaks for itself "my eyes deceive" it(the game) wants you to be fooled by the fact that her father is "protecting" her just because he didn't do anything seemingly bad for the marjority of the game, maybe thats just my thought on it but i wanted to share my opnion.
I loves this. It felt very real and tension-like-scary. I love how the whole thing can also be interpreted how you'd like. Great game, and I can't wait to see what else you make!
This game is fucking awful. It’s so slow, tedious and boring with atrocious graphics. The second night i couldn’t even figure out where the fuck to go because it was so dark and it kept leading to dead ends - that’s how bad the graphics are. Not only that but the only interesting thing is the plot twist; if it wasn’t for the shock value of the father raping the daughter, I don’t this game would have the traction it does because HOLY SHIT is this so fucking boring and awful.
this game literally just uses shock content for the sake of it. the game had no buildup, no reason for me to trust the father, it was obvious he was the villain all along, this game is stupid, you just dont seem to get it.
Really love this game, this was truly the best game i played last year and that's no lie cuz the story behind this game is disturbing but if you are not playing attention you might miss it just like what almost happened to me
I wish the graphic would be updated to show actions performed like taking pills or water flowing when showering/drinking.Alernativelly I think a better way to do this would be to just fade to black instead of showing this bar and a gps location icon, they really stick out.
My Eyes Deceive ist mit Abstand das verstörenste Horror Game, was bis dato gespielt habe. Die Atmosphäre ist extrem dicht und die Musik ist einfach perfekt eingebunden.
Some reason I got emotional during the diary writing because of Clair de lune, other than that it sure is a messed up game but well made, so triggering aswell as I can say.
Really good job on capturing the feeling of solitude and innocence. Obviously very sad and heavy but really well made. Awesome job and hope to see more games from you!
Pretty good game. I liked the visuals on the dream sequences. I guessed the ending immediately, so I would've preferred you took an alternative direction with it, . However, I get that would change the whole theme, so if the theme is the primary reason you made it, I get why you want to keep it the way it is. However, in future I would recommend making things a bit more cryptic, so the twist isn't so easy to guess.
*Spoilers*
People are presuming that the guy is her real dad, but I wonder if the dream sequence where she picks up something and then a huge figure grabs her is indicating that she was abducted when very young. So young that the memory is hazy and not fully formed. I've read that memories don't really solidify until at least 3 years old, when we have more understanding of the world. So anything before that would be a formless blur, like what we saw.Just speculation, but it would explain at least one of the dreams and maybe all of them if you think of them all as half formed memories of a kid under 3.
The man not being her father makes sense in the no-pills ending. If police searched the mans house because of his suspicious purchases, wouldn't they check on his daughter? she obviously never went outside her cellar room. So the police must have no clue about the kid
It's amazing how much horror you were able to convery with such minimal writing... This is a good game. Though I must say, the 'pills ending' is to me much more terrifying than the other since it all clicks in your head instead of being explicitly shown. If you make more games like this, I'd love to see the writing follow the 'cryptic with a twist' route rather than explain the fear away. So for example, if in the 'no pills' ending there were no documents to read but just that last scene.

Very Disturbing Game with a sad ending. Fucked up how such things actually happen irl.
does anyone know how to open the app on iOS I'm struggling
Are there differences between the itch and Steam releases?

it's actually based on a real-life case in 2008 the Fritzl case. https://www.bing.com/ck/a?!&&p=71d58ddbbbd51a55JmltdHM9MTcwODIxNDQwMCZpZ3VpZD0yZ...
oh, my apologies for being a bit ignorant of that

I totally agree with that not gonna lie
thank you for sharing your opinion :3
(It's just hard sometimes for me to interpret works haha...but i understand. Everyone has different opinions and mines was probably pretty wrong.)
Hi, I'd like to volunteer to translate your game from English into Brazilian Portuguese.
I loves this. It felt very real and tension-like-scary. I love how the whole thing can also be interpreted how you'd like. Great game, and I can't wait to see what else you make!
Here's my playthrough if anyone wants to see:
Interesting game, courious and shocking plot. A bit slow but enjoyable. I watered the plants all days haha. Nice job :)
Great game based off a true story. Please dont play if you are easily disturbed. There are some HEAVY topics in this game.

I don’t recommend this pile of garbage.
you seem to be an average FPS player whose for some reason played a psycological horror game, your comment doesn't make any sense in this place

Its actually based on true events, if you want to know more, you can search The Fritzl Case:)

Excellent game. Simple, disturbing and intriguing. Congratulations for the project.
This was definitely one of the darkest games I have play. Amazing Game
Terrifying story.

Amazing game nonetheless

is there a way you can add in a third ending?
